Clueless – rah rah rah … we are proactive……  Yet the latest concepts ( paradigm shift)  most likely came from an article read with no depth of understanding what so ever , and no context from a magazine in business class , that the “boss read”  in executive business class, while having a few scotch whiskey, on the way for a “meeting”  to “discuss” with you the latest ideas and implementations from head office dealing with cost saving decisions , strategies and tactics decided at the latest “upper level management meetings’.

Worse yet its all taken with no depth of comprehension or understanding what so ever.  For example the lecture may be on that most workers / reps / salespeople under-utilize the greatest tools of efficiency – being typically – email , cell phones , pay phones telephones. Fine ok.

The next demanding conversation deals with “I am not used to people using the devices – phone , cell phones email etc”.   In other words we should keep busy regardless of end efficiencies and effectiveness proving how scared of me you are scurrying around driving from here to there – wasting time in traffic , at the parking lot etc etc etc.

What a waste of time and sheer stupidity !  No doubt about it.

It can be said and summarized – what a waste of time , who needs it and you would be better off to have stayed home in bed rather than be subjected to just foolishness and downright waste of time.

Yet it all goes under the guise of  “Management “  and “Management Prerogative”

Recently at a local auto dealership a sequence of events happened

First email stops. It turns out that an IT tech is called in.  The sales department is not getting email from the high powered online application form.  The computer and Outlook Express log on check out.  It worked before .  Passwords had not been changed on the Outlook Express nor email settings.  The IT tech determines that the issue must be on the “server side”

All is forgotten until Monday after the weekend when the tech is called again in a panic.  First its no email.  Next its no website.

It turns out the web host was not renewed. No one on top of that knew particulars – host , log on etc.

Once the host was up still no email nor website on the internet.  DNS Queries and Google Yahoo searches are blank.

The owner of the place keeps going back to Google checking like a dog looking for a lost bone under the blanket expecting his website to magically appear

It turns out that the domain name  had not been renewed either , had lapsed and was in a suspended mode

Again no clear cut lines of authority , records or delegation

What a foolish waste of time and energies

You might think that your boss or supervisor was put on earth by the creator him or herself for that very role in the universe – in the creation of things , events , places and situations in the entire universe .

How grandiose and downright preposterous .

You might well think that your manager grew up in the family of an alcoholic top down management style  of  the Romans,  a biker gang , General Motors or perhaps the railway.

Some things remain in the blood so to speak , and can never be learnt over , or unlearned.

What a waste of time.  Most people somehow complete their work, satisfy their customer base all somehow working around or in spite of their management  and  “head office”

Perhaps it can be viewed that the creator put your boss on earth as a personal test to yourself , your work ethics , morals and scruples.
