<p>It is an amazing fact of life &#8230;.rah &#8230;. rah .. rah that perks and power trips come first and foremost</p>
<p>If people are &#8220;no longer with the company&#8221;  it is often is not usually in the form of a power trip.  The concepts of what productivity and results these personalities brought to firm are seldom discussed or noted .   Never mind as well the investment in time , energies and &#8220;Management Time &#8221; ( and expense was involved)</p>
<p>Its a case of the rules are golden &#8211; we are here to discuss and be open minded t0 what we want&#8230;&#8230;.  I am the boss</p>
<p>Here is one example of the mindset :</p>
<p>General Guidelines for Contributions:</p>
<p>Although the company&#8217;s contribution  program  will be administered in a flexible manner in response to changing community needs, the general guidelines below will apply:</p>
<p>1) The company prefers to focus its giving though significant  contributions ( in excess of x $ dollars) to key organizations rather than to numerous smaller contributions to many organizations</p>
<p>2)Contributions  are limited to nonprofit organizations  exempt from taxation under the Internal Revenue Code and Codes</p>
<p>3) All recipients will operate their programs  according to equal opportunity objectives</p>
<p>4) Commitments should generally not exceed three years to assure the company&#8217;s flexibility  to changing needs</p>
<p>5) Requests / proposals for funding  should be submitted during the second quarter of the year preceding funding</p>
<p>6) All solicitation made by phone  verbally should be verified in writiting</p>
<p>The amazing part that with all of these rules and guidelines how many times management will simply sabotage efforts on the &#8220;front lines&#8221; when it comes to short sighted &#8211; almost knee jerk reactions , poorly thought out or through, when it comes to funding to important customers that is arbitrarily changed and reneged upon . Lol lots of laughs.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>It can be said that &#8220;there are only so many hours in a day&#8221;.</p>
<p>Take the case of one hapless employee / drone  / slave who attempted to have an intelligent (?) conversation with a manager concerning this manner.  The employee in question was a hard working , dedicated individual who saw his role as being productive , to cover the territory so to speak and produce results &#8211; and ultimately sales of the firm&#8217;s products , profit at the end of the year for the firm and ultimately a personal image for the enterprise in a most competitive industry , in which this particular firm was a pimple , a disturbance among giants to their competitors.</p>
<p>It seemed in retrospect to the victim ( the employee trying to make a simple point ) , that his superior was an abusive individual , on a power trip , coming off a drinking bender.  Instead of welcoming the query as a general question by a loyal , hard working employee who he should of been grateful to have , the direct perfect saw it as a direct threat to his authority in the workplace &#8211; even though there were no others present in the meeting , or indeed from the company in the town itself.</p>
<p>The boss saw it simply as a threatening  case of the &#8220;troops starting up&#8221;.  In essence a direct threat to his person , his power and his prestige in the whole setting , his managerial position ( which of course the underling lived to upsurb and posess).</p>
<p>The agent of managerial power then leapt into a reflex action .  &#8221; Lets do a quickie analysis&#8221;, be begun .  &#8220;How much time does an average call to a customer take ?&#8221;.  When the employee answered that the depended on the individual customer.  On top of that paper work had to be done accurately otherwise the employee / firm would be held liable for the cost and price differences directly.  Again the manager asked the question &#8211; &#8220;How long does an average call take ?&#8221;.  OK then we will give you a certain amount ( totally a low figure devoid of reality and showing no practical experience by the superior what so ever in the real world and with real world customer activities.&#8221;.  &#8220;You are the customer&#8217;s door for these specific calls in the morning from 7 am to noon&#8221;.  We will give you 15 minutes travel time ( average time of any journey generally in the worker&#8217;s experience was at least half an hour.  On top of the walk from any parking lot &#8211; be it a mall or a downtown area from the auto in the parking lot to the customer&#8217;s location..  XXX you multiply it out .  The manager proudly announced to the underling &#8211; &#8220;Do you realize that you are   % 19.73 per cent efficient.</p>
<p>It was at this point that the subject employee in this fable and noteworthy tale realized that he was simply dealing with idiots. Wjo on earth would promote such a moron, as well as stand behind his harassment of employees , ignore a substance abuse problem.  On top of that it the employee was still gainfully employed with such a record &#8211; then he should be terminated.  If the employee was turning good numbers then the tables should be turned.  It should he that person not the supervisor who should conduct meetings and instruct employees on the means and ways of their duties.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>From time to time the role of management interaction on the sales floor , out on the sales territory, in the field or perhaps on the factory floor is asked for or about.  Its a puzzle.  Sometimes the answers given vary &#8211; positive beneficial effects , core integration ,  working with or coordinating with customers , fact finding , improving efficiency or morale , &#8220;interfacing&#8221;  , problem solving , core focus groups , &#8220;getting down to basics&#8221;  or &#8220;sticking with the knitting&#8221;, are given or bantered around as answers to this ongoing question of intrigue.</p>
<p>Yet if the answer was one of finding out what customers wanted or how they wished to be treated was the reason or answer &#8211; would not a simple phone call , email or question of the person out on the floor or in the field suffice ?  If it is to improve &#8220;morale&#8221;  , then why all the harassment of workers out on the floor, and of having to pretend that they really enjoy the whole procedure and event.   Sure it is fun like pulling teeth.  If is similar to your local dentist placing a neon sign on his business Dr. so and so dental clinic and &#8220;Fun Zone&#8221;</p>
<p>In the end it can be said that in the  end it is nothing more than power and a power trip.    It is all about teaching the underling &#8220;&#8221;who is boss&#8221; , putting them underfoot and underway ,  reminding them of the perks of management afforded to the superior and that they should &#8220;know their place&#8221; both in the pecking order of the firm or organization, while in the process obtaining air points and charge card visa / Amex/Mastercard premium points.</p>
<p>It is an amazing thing that most employees function in spite of these evil charades and downright foolishness.  What a bunch of morons these management types.   It makes the <a title="Hindu Caste System " href="http://www.hinduwebsite.com/hinduism/h_caste.asp">Hindu caste system</a> look good .  At least the Hindu Caste system is benevolent to a great degree.</p>
