]]> It can be said and noted that the primary reason that people leave their jobs is because of their interpersonal relationships with their supervisors.Perhaps it goes back to “Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs ” and the reliving or families of origin especially cases of family dysfunction.

Usually for a worker or employee to leave their job its seldom about pay , benefits , the company car or even because of organizational departments.. Rather its often always circles around that they are not getting along with their direct supervisor. Then again it might be similar to ladies of the night handing over most of their take to their pimp / manager as they are in deep love with them – or again reliving family of origin relationship background issues.

In warning it might be said that the perspective supervisor should do their best to give candidates a better opportunity to determine whether this is the sort of person or personality that can respect and develop a good rapport with. If they feel or determine that there is a good fit or “chemistry” with the supervisor , then , if hired,that there is a good chance – or better that they will emerge as a happier and more engaged employee. Lots of luck. LOL do you believe in the tooth fairy in 2011 when jobs are in short supply ?

Are we all on on the page from the same playbook or even living in the same etenity

Its not unlike a group of bank robbers – robbing gold bars and then having one group of the activity leaving a bar of gold out on plain view

For example “There is nothing more important than an employee’s relationship with her or her boss.  Numerous studies have shown that the linchpin of great performance, long-term commitment , at all levels of any business or corporate organization are long term relationships”.   But although most hiring managers will look at the personality fit and fits  between themselves and job candidates (?)  , few prospective employees give this component much consideration what so ever – often to their greatest regret and regrets if they discover later on ( if not within 10 minutes ) of being hired its all too late.  Hello earth calling!

What about the phrases and slogans by managers and supervisors – ” I am responsible… I take personal responsibility for all actions and those of my workers and hires”.  Sort of like being thrown under the bus.

]]> It might be well said that understanding and influencing the minds of consumers / your boss in the marketplace is a key to understanding either business success or alternatively your longevity at the workplace / work site.

Positioning is now recognized ( by many authorities)  as a fundamental – or at least a major underpinning – for market driven companies – at least in the scheme and schemes of manage mold  or perhaps better said – moulds.

Positioning is strategic, and it’s main purpose  ( perhaps) is to differentiate  the company from all it’s competitors  in people’s or perhaps “victim’s “  minds.  It is thus sometimes referred to as the “Battle for the Minds”  or better put “Battle for or of the “little minds”".

Why , or perhaps alternatively put – this is because positioning involves not so much what people perceive  but rather what ….. you do.    Thus this is what makes positioning and its ultimate purposes and powers  a most difficult challenge and set of challenges for most companies , enterprises and organizations in that it seeks an ultimate goal or set of goals of associations in people’s minds, that is to establish what the company , group or products mean to their lives.

Its not unlike peer pressure in a biker gang , and wanabees being told “You are not part of the group….. do you see how they are looking at you..”

This might be said it is akin to the victim of  a lynch mob being explained why he is hanging from the noose.  If it is readily apparent – good , if not the reason may be the event is occurring because their is no logical reason by any means , forms or rational explanation.   Yet the powers that be will go out of their way to make sense and rationality out an apparent non-rational even arbitrary choice or decision.  Ultimately it comes down to “It has been decided”

The example might be given of a test given in a standard form by a well known forensic psychologist.

The story is told and elaborated that at the  funeral of her mother a young lady meets a man of her dreams.  She has never met nor related to any person  by this means previously what so ever.  Two weeks later this young lady savagely murders her sister for no apparent reason.  What is the reason ?  Can you explain this – subjects being interviewed and assessed were asked.

The answer that those who were labelled psychopaths – indeed this may well be a very good test of  “management potential”  was that the girl killed her sister – because she knew at the funeral that she would meet that man or a similar personality yet again.

Somehow this makes great rational sense both in the mind of psycpaths  and past , present and future managers as well as those with “management potential”
