Marketing at best previously had been via “broadcasting”. That is you broadcasted – that is spread your message to a wide group of potential customers – or perhaps in some cases victims in the case of late night infomercials. It was a “numbers game” with lots of mud thrown against many walls.

Target marketing has come to the realization that since most of the effort is wasted – and especially with modern more specific internet and technologically driven tools is that its more cost effective , and easier for followup sales to target a niche group of people who are either interested in your product , willing to try it out , able to pay etc etc. Hence one interested bird in hand is better than a ton in the bush who never come into fruition or alternatively you are better to phone the one girl who might marry you or at least go out with you than the hundreds of unapproachable women at the local bar.

Its still mud against the wall – yet more targeted mud.

Yet after all the expensive travel and training the moron came back to inflict a full lack of comprehension of the new strategy and tactics in 2011 what so ever.

When asked about his course and what messages , methods and training could be applied to the current business plan and model his answer was – “You just get out there , pound the pavement and Blitz , Blitz, Blitz !

Yet when this need becomes too strong, over demanding or even pathological then it becomes an issue.

At hand may be your boss or supervisor.   If your boss has an overwhelming need to be “liked’ you can show that you do respect him or her , but that legitimate results are much more important to life , to the world and in this case to work and the organization than simple popularity.

At the end of the day when you leave the office , you are going to be the same person who entered in the morning.  Whom likes you and who does not – does it really matter to any great or greatest degree.  On top of that when you get down to it – much of what goes on in life and in the minds of others is serendipity that you have little control or influence over what so ever.

Yet you may get a superior that when you attempt to discuss this just stares off in space.

Talk about a lack of rationality of cause and effect.  You would think first of all you are at your place of employment for an income to feed yourself and your family , or perhaps gaining expertise and experience for a better or another job.

Yet the moron may just stare into deep space. Who knows why.  Do they consider you a peon who is beneath their discussion of the matter – that you and your view really don’t count ?
Or is this that they see such questions as a direct threat to their power and position – that you want their job and are “causing trouble “?  Or is it that they are a drunkard nursing over the last

hangover ?  Or is that they are just morons ?

The truth is its probably a combination of all of the above.
