			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>You most likely have had the pleasure of  &#8220;attending&#8221;  as a &#8220;participant&#8221;  ( willing or not) a sales and motivation session.</p>
<p>After all , business for most is bad if not terrible.  Its never a fault of upper management.  After all their perks are sacrosanct and given by the creator him or herself.</p>
<p>Many companies are showing increased bottom lines.  Yet when <a title="increased bottom lines as a direct result of staffing reductions" href="http://www.thedisciplinedinvestor.com/blog/2008/11/17/audio-horowitz-dvorak-unpplugged-7/">financial analysts </a>, evaluate the stock market and business data it seems, that it is not as a result of increased sales , or new product releases onto the marketplace but rather mainly due to staff and staffing reductions</p>
<p>Less people to pay on the office , factory or sales floor , hence revenue minus lower expenses yields a greater bottom line.</p>
<p>Wonderful &#8211; if you follow this logic GM and Chrysler must have the greatest management in the world whereas in essence while the bottom line increased steadily on the color graphs and charts the company was cannibalized , new product development and research halted , production reduced , and the best and most experienced staff let go.</p>
<p>If they were working for the company , rather than being on pension at least the firm would get some value for their money.  What is left , if any staff are a bunch of  innocuous   ( to upper management ) &#8220;yes men&#8221;</p>
<p>Regardless of reality if you are lucky enough to attend the &#8220;moonie session&#8221;  be prepared , regardless of the wordy themes ( building bridges with staff / suppliers , enhanced service levels in 2010,  our customers are our future , our staff is most important to our success etc etc) be prepared to a session on &#8220;in 2010 you are Going to HAVE TO LEARN TO JUGGLE !&#8221;</p>
<p>Here for your benefit is a lesson on the &#8220;art of juggling&#8221;  101</p>
<p>Step 1 : Cascade ( One Scarf)</p>
<p>Begin with one scarf in your dominant hand.  Hold it with your palm down , between your thumb , first and second fingers .  The backs of your hands should be visible to you.</p>
<p>With a scooping motion from outside to inside, toss the scarf.  It should go across the center line and peak about 8 inches above your head on the opposite side from which you threw it.</p>
<p>Catch it in your subordinate hand with your palm down.</p>

<p>eBay seems to go out of its way to prove  &#8220;Who is Boss !&#8221; regardless of any of the consequences to its sales , customer relationships and ultimately its bottom line.</p>
<p>On eBay its the sellers who carry the load and pay the tariff &#8211; not the buyers by any chance</p>
<p>Listing fees , &#8220;final value sale fees&#8221;  and then a PayPal fee / tax of approximately 4 %</p>
<p>eBay regularly issues updates and edicts to the sellers all tied into 1984 type language of how &#8220;we are here to help you&#8221;</p>
<p>It apparently target markets new upcoming product revisions and systems extensively &#8211; the committees  must be deaf , dumb and plain or just plain misinformed and misdirected</p>
<p>Two examples</p>
<p>1) Good news to enhance &#8220;transparency&#8221;  sellers can now only leave positive or no feedback at all whereas the buyer</p>
<p>has the choice of bidding , buying or not trusting a vendor .  The seller has no such powers</p>
<p>Yet the buyer can hit the seller with negative feedback</p>
<p>Apparently some sellers were using threat of negative feedback to force or coerce buyers to  pay up for what they purchased on .   Horrors.</p>

<p>2) Recently to enhance the process of non paying bidders , ebay came up with a new streamlined strategy &#8211; The Unpaid Item  Policy&#8221;</p>
<p>Great</p>
<p>Only one problem &#8211; the time limit has been conveniently reduced ( quietly) from 45 to 32 days</p>
<p>10 days not to be paid</p>
<p>10 days for the buyer to promise to pay while you wait.  If the seller is overly aggressive in requesting payment promptly   they may receive a negative comment from the buyer who has not honored their committments</p>
<p>lastly if the seller is dragged on further by the buyer &#8211; soon its too late to make the claim</p>
<p>Remember these rules and procedures are all there to help you</p>
<p>You can bet on one thing , eBay will always take its cut regardless right off the top</p>
<p>The seller is left to wonder is this all worth the effort of it all</p>
<p>Ebay can serve as a model of business , your boss and how the same people who ran the old pre-internet &#8220;bricks and mortar &#8221; economy into the ground , are now back firmly and place and most likely your new boss or supervisor.</p>

<p>It is an interesting concept. Practice interviews.  Its not unlike practicing having teeth pulled or limbs ripped off or practicing hunger or deprivation .  Practice interviews and interviewing can be similar to &#8220;dress rehearsals&#8221;  or football practice.  You might try or wish to fine tune your answers to questions or work on your abilities to maintain a condition of aliveness.  You may need to try one one i f  you have not figured out what your next &#8220;bottom  line&#8221;  salary minimum is or should be.</p>
<p>Practice interviews can range from going to people to people in your field for advice to actually pursuing job interviews.  Either way will show you how to put your efforts and road map into practice before tackling the &#8220;real thing&#8221;.</p>
<p>But get all your practicing down long before you show up for your important job interviews.  Those are the ones that you want to crack wide open.</p>
